Yangzhou University team develops intelligent system to realize remote automatic control in greenhouse cultivation

How to solve the problem of controlling the environment of light, temperature and humidity in the greenhouse? Recently, the research team directed by Zhang Zhenghua of the School of Information Engineering of Yangzhou University developed a smart greenhouse system based on the Internet of Things, which provided an effective solution to the problem.

In China, high-grade flowers have high environmental requirements, and some areas cannot be cultivated outdoors. Most of them are cultivated in greenhouses. However, the control of the environment such as light, temperature and humidity in the shed is relatively high, and traditional manual detection and adjustment are difficult. Zhang Zhenghua instructed the research team to record all the environmental variables and flower growth during the growth process through the establishment of the flower traceability system and remote automatic control by the expert system.

Experimental tests show that the system can collect remote agricultural related data information in real time, accurately and quickly with the cooperation of hardware and software, and wirelessly transmit the collected environmental information to the computer to generate corresponding graphs and histograms. Through the expert system cloud service, accurately set the best farming operations, and make the traditional extensive production into fine farming, and achieve the purpose of scientific planting.

Using this system will greatly reduce planting costs. Lu Dongfang, a graduate student of the participating team, said that because the system uses 485 bus to connect all sensors and control devices instead of a previous sensor with a ZigBee method, only one ZigBee can realize data transmission, which greatly saves costs.

“Because the quality and output of high-grade flowers are greatly affected by the quality of the planting environment, the income of flower farmers has been difficult to stabilize. This system can make the greenhouse greenhouse intelligent, can feedback the environmental information in the greenhouse in time, and call the expert system through the computer. The control of the greenhouse environment to adjust the growth of high-end flowers, stabilize the income of flower farmers, and even control the flowering period, so that the flowers will be listed in advance to obtain higher economic benefits." Zhang Zhenghua said.
