Affected by cold air, yesterday (16th) there was a large range of rainfall in the area from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the eastern part of the Northwest. It is expected that the eastern part of the northwestern region will still be dominated by showers and thunderstorms. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau continues to be rainy and the local area needs to guard against strong convective weather such as short-term thunderstorms or hail.
Yesterday, there were more clouds in the sky from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the eastern part of the northwestern region, and there was a wide range of light rain. Due to the influence of cold air and rainy weather, the temperature in the above areas has also declined. The monitoring showed that at 14 o'clock yesterday, the temperature in the western Inner Mongolia, Gansu Hexi Corridor and Xinjiang Nanjiang Basin generally decreased by 2~6 °C compared with the previous day, and the body feeling was relatively cool.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that there will be showers or thunderstorms in the eastern part of the northwestern region and the central and eastern Inner Mongolia in the next three days. Among them, there are heavy rains in parts of northeastern Inner Mongolia, southern Gansu and Ningxia. Some of these areas have short-term thunderstorms or hailstorms. Strong convective weather; in addition, the eastern and central parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau continue to be rainy.
Among them, today, there are moderate to heavy rains in the eastern part of the northwestern region and the central and eastern Inner Mongolia. Among them, there will be thunderstorms or hailstorms in parts of northern Ningxia, northeastern Inner Mongolia and western Hetao.
With the eastward shift of cold air and rainfall, the central and eastern parts of the northwestern region and the central and western Inner Mongolia will continue to cool down today. The maximum temperature drop is generally 2~7 °C, and the weak people should pay attention to the timely addition of clothing in the morning and evening.
Experts reminded that the geological conditions in the northwestern region and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are relatively fragile. It is necessary to strengthen the prevention of flash floods and geological disasters caused by heavy rainfall, and at the same time pay attention to the prevention of adverse effects such as short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms and strong convective weather.
