First, the principle of steam flow meter

When a triangular column type vortex generator is provided in the fluid, two rows of regular vortices are alternately generated from both sides of the vortex generator, and this vortex is called a Karman vortex street, as shown in Fig. 1 .

A capacitance detecting type vortex flow/sensor or a piezoelectric detecting type vortex flow sensor can be formed by incorporating a capacitance detecting probe or a piezoelectric detecting probe and a corresponding matching circuit in the vortex generating body.

Five, vortex flowmeter installation requirements:

1. The vortex flowmeter can be installed indoors or outdoors. If installed in a well and flooded, choose a submersible sensor or transmitter.

2. The vortex flowmeter can be installed horizontally, vertically or obliquely on the pipeline, but when measuring liquid, the pipeline must be filled with liquid. Therefore, a vortex flowmeter is installed on a vertical or inclined pipe, and the flow direction of the liquid should be from bottom to top.

3. There should be a long straight pipe section on the upstream side and downstream side of the vortex flowmeter. The required length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections varies with the pipe condition. The upstream of the vortex flowmeter should avoid installing the regulating valve or the half-opening valve. The regulating valve or the semi-opening valve should be installed after the 5D downstream of the flowmeter.

4. The inner diameter of the pipe for installing the vortex flowmeter must be the same as the inner diameter of the flowmeter, otherwise it must be reduced.

5. When designing the pipeline, the upper end of the sensor or transmitter should be kept at least 500mm space to facilitate debugging and overhaul.
