For the first time, the new standard has increased the limit on the thickness of dry pressed ceramic tiles. The surface area of ​​ceramic tiles is less than 0.36 square meters, the thickness is less than 10 mm, and the surface area is 0.36 to 0.64 square meters. Between the thickness of less than 11 mm; surface area greater than 0.64 square meters, the thickness can not exceed 13.5 mm. This requirement greatly reduces the thickness of ceramic tiles and promotes the development of ceramic tiles to thinner.
At the same time, the standard has also improved the technical requirements for extruded ceramic tiles, increased the requirements for wall tile backing, etc., and is expected to solve the quality problems such as ceramic tile breaks and hollow drums. The new standard requires that in the description of ceramic tile products, the method of forming ceramic tiles should be described; the water absorption rate; surface characteristics, such as glaze or no glaze. The amount of lead and cadmium dissolved in glazed tiles must meet the standard requirements.
Experts remind consumers that when purchasing ceramic tiles, pay attention to the standard number of products, and pay attention to the quality of ceramic tiles when choosing the style and size of ceramic tiles. First, observe whether ceramic tiles have pinholes or black spots. The bubble-like pinholes on the brick surface will affect the water absorption rate of the tiles and cause bleed. The pinholes will also accumulate dirt, which will make the tiles difficult to clean. Second, it is necessary to observe whether the tiles are flat.
