Recently, vegetable farmers have generally reflected that tomatoes have a small circle around the back of the fruit, which directly affects sales, which makes the farmers' friends really anxious. Experts analyze the main reasons for this phenomenon in the following three points.
First, in general, the varieties are determined to be thicker and more resistant to transport. The ring cracks will be slightly worse, and the varieties with thin peels will be more serious. Therefore, when selecting a variety, the vegetable grower should choose a variety that is thick and resistant to storage and transportation.
Second, improper air release, as the external temperature decreases, the temperature difference between day and night in the shed is large, and the fruit surface and the leaves are prone to condensation. If there is more condensation on the fruit surface, in the morning, no matter whether the dewdrops are retreating or not, the wind suddenly appears, and the water on the fruit surface evaporates quickly, which is prone to fruit ring cracking. In this regard, it is recommended that vegetable farmers must release the wind at the right time. Generally speaking, when the temperature in the shed reaches 27-28 °C in the morning, the dewdrop on the surface of the fruit disappears and the air is released, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of fruit ring cracking. When encountering windy weather, avoid blowing the tomato fruit directly, which can also effectively reduce the ring crack.
The third is that the supply of fertilizer and water is not balanced. After 7-20 days of flowering, the fruit is rapidly expanding, and sufficient water and fertilizer supply is needed to increase production. If there is uneven drought and flood during this period, the fruit is prone to ring cracking. Therefore, after the tomato enters the fruit-expanding period, according to the soil moisture of the greenhouse, it is timely to topdress the water, ensuring that it is too dry and not too big.
Fourth, when the spray concentration is high, if the temperature in the shed is high or the spraying time is arranged at noon, the liquid evaporates quickly, causing the concentration of the drug drop remaining on the fruit surface to become large rapidly. Under the stimulation of the drug, the peel is also easy. A crack occurs and a ring split is formed. In this regard, it is recommended that vegetable farmers should avoid the high temperature at noon when spraying, generally in the afternoon.
