At present, Sino-Kazakhstan cooperation, the oil and natural gas pipelines are the most important cooperative projects, among which the China-Kazakhstan Natural Gas Pipeline (KCGP) is one of the lifebloods of China's connection to natural gas in Central Asia.

Among them, the first phase of the project was completed and put into production in December 2009. The second phase of the project is Kazakhstan's domestic pipeline, which spans West Kazakhstan and South Kazakhstan, referred to as the "Two Kazakhstan" natural gas pipeline. In October 2009, China and Kazakhstan decided to implement the second phase of the Sino-Kazakhstan gas pipeline project.

Krumbetov brought good news yesterday. He said that the construction project for the "Two Kazakhstan" natural gas pipeline will start at the end of this year.

He said that according to the agreement signed last year between China and Kazakhstan, China Export-Import Bank and the National Development Bank provided Kazakhstan with two batches worth US$10 billion. Among them, China Exim Bank injected capital into Kazakh National Oil and Gas Corporation. Billion US dollars was used to purchase part of the shares of Kazakhstan's Mangis set of oil and gas companies, and the other major shareholder of the company is PetroChina. In the US, US$2 billion will be invested in the construction of the “Two Kazakhstan” natural gas pipeline.

In terms of new energy, in the fall of 2009, SK** signed a series of cooperation agreements with China. This includes cooperation agreements with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group on wind energy, solar energy and hydro energy. At present, China and Kazakhstan are studying the feasibility of building a wind power station in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

As for the cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, Klimbedov emphasized at yesterday’s press conference that China’s new round of nuclear power plant construction will generate huge demand for nuclear fuel, and Kazakhstan is the world’s largest natural* producer, China and Kazakhstan. The country’s future cooperation in nuclear fuel is even greater than the current cooperation in the oil and gas field.

He emphasized that the cooperation in the field of nuclear fuel belongs to the strategic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. It belongs to the cooperation between the two governments and hopes to expand cooperation in this area.
