Two draft iron ore standards are finally accepted by ISO

Recently, the ISO/TC102 14th Iron ore Inter-Korean Standards Conference held in Japan came to the news. The Beilun Inspection and Quarantine Bureau took on board the two international standards developed, namely ISO17792 and ISO2597-4, and its working group draft and project report. Accepted by the ISO Iron Ore Professional Technical Committee, the standard revision process enters the next stage.

The ISO/TC102/SC2/SG18 project working group responsible for convening and project responsibility by the Beilun Bureau, namely "ISO17792 Iron Ore - Arsenic Content Detection - Hydride Generation Atomic Absorption Spectrometry", has progressed very smoothly and is about to close the key committee. In the draft stage, the voting period of the CD draft will be entered into. If no accident occurs, the standard is expected to be completed within 2 years and published. This standard is China's first iron ore inter-standard, and it is also the country's first iron ore standard development project undertaken by the convener. After the Quebec Conference in Canada last time, under the coordination of the convener of the Beilun Bureau, the draft amendment opinions were first consulted internationally and the draft standardization work was completed. In 2008, the project team organized international precision testing of the project in which 10 laboratories from 5 countries participated in the project. It was successfully completed in the first half of 2009. At the same time, the project team has submitted the precision data to the Brazilian statistician of TC102 for precision. Degree calculation. After hearing the work report of the convener of the Beilun Bureau and the precision report of the Brazilian statistician at the Tokyo Conference in Japan, experts from various countries expressed high recognition for the work of the project team and unanimously requested that the formulation of the standard be entered next. Stage so that it can be published as soon as possible. SC2** Ben Zengming highly praised the Beilun Bureau's contribution to the experts and congratulated the project on its smooth transition to the next stage. In addition, another project working group (ISO/TC102/SC2/SG24) convened by the Beilun Bureau, namely “ISO2597-4 Iron Ore—Determination of Total Iron Content—Potential Titration” was completed after the Canadian Conference was established. The pre-stage verification test, the revised draft submitted this time has also been successfully registered as a working group draft and will enter the next stage, this year Beilun Bureau will actively promote the international precision test of the standard.

The draft standard entered the draft stage of the committee and passed the vote. It is the most critical step in the revision of the international standard system. It indicates that the most difficult stage in the international standard setting process has passed. After that, the ISO standard system revision will be mainly undertaken by the ISO Central Secretariat. Draft standardization and experimentation basically completed. After entering this stage, unless there are special reasons, member states will generally no longer raise objections. The stage process is only a routine procedure.

The Beilun Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will take the progress of these two international standards revision work as an opportunity. In addition to the completion of the current two standard setting work, it will further introduce new proposals to promote the development of iron ore standards in the field of international standardization. Strengthen our right to speak, safeguard our interests in international technology negotiations, and enhance our country's influence and soft power.
