Russian National Statistical Commission: Rapid growth of zinc production from January to November

December 20, according to a report released by the Russian National Statistical Commission on Friday, the zinc output from January to November increased by 18% year-on-year.

The committee did not give specific output figures and only provided a year-on-year increase.

Refined copper production increased by 6.1% year-on-year, nickel production increased by 3.1% year-on-year, primary aluminum production increased by 1.6% year-on-year, and lead production increased by 10.8%.



The International Lead and Zinc Research Group (ILZSG) said in its monthly report on Wednesday that during the first ten months of this year, the global refined zinc market had a surplus of 211,000 tons.

In the same period, the global use of refined zinc was 10.341 million tons, which was 8.840 million tons in the same period of last year.

From January to October, global refined zinc production increased from 9.157 million tons in the same period last year to 10.052 million tons.

The data released by ILZSG also showed that in October producers' inventory increased from 298,000 tons in September to 299,000 tons. At the end of 2009, it was 318,000 tons.

Commercial inventory consists of Western producers, consumers (reportable and predictable), traders, and LME inventories.
